Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This week seven wonderful GoodGym-ers run 6km to shift the earth for a local primary school
Brahma is injured, so this week's run was lead by GoodGym Barnet Trainer Pennie (hi!waves).
We had two GoodGym newbies in Newham this week, give a massive cheer to James and Sharon's husband Kevin! Sharon obviously gets bonus points for bringing Kevin along.
Alice helped me lead the pack to Portway Primary School in Plaistow where we met Cassie to shift the earth. Cassie runs a company called Grow Your Own Playground. It's all about teaching people to grow stuff to eat. Alice and Justin were our trusty back-markers.
The team worked hard for 30 minutes, filling a trough and a half of mud and filling dozens of black bags. Despite making a huge dent in the mud pile, there's still tonnes to shift so I have a feeling GG will be going back soon!
We then headed back to base, taking a short cut through the Stratford Centre – which may or may not have actually been a short cut at all, but did involve running up the Rocky stairs. We finished up by the Aquatics centre for a quick stretch before heading home.
Don't forget it's the GoodGym Mega Mission on 21 January at 10am in N18. Sign up here.
Well done team. It was a pleasure to run with you!
