Report written by Jer Boon
Six of us convened up at Claverton for a mildly damp torchlit trail run.
Helen led us on a relatively easy paced 5k around the, um, muddier end of the Bath Skyline route. There’s been a lot of rain lately so it was extra muddy, squidgy and generally wet up there.
We learned a few trail running skills along the way - e.g. how to run on really slippery mud; to run through the puddles instead of around them because your feet were going to end up soaked anyway; and to make sure your torch batteries are charged up before you start.
I’m not sure many of us would have voluntarily gone out on a night like this on our own, but as a group we had a lovely time really - so look out for more runs and training events coming up in the coming weeks..
