Park runs complete, and with the sun beaming down, 6 goodgymers met on Saturday morning at the lovely community gardens in Charlton's Maryon park, a site made famous in Michelangelo Antonioni's acclaimed 1966 film 'Blow Up' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowup). We were met by the garden volunteers and steered towards two large piles of mulch and some wheelbarrows, today's task being to wheel the mulch up the hill to provide a new surface for the garden's forest school. We quickly split into teams, with some loading the barrows, others transporting the mulch, and more raking and spreading the mulch at the school to provide a nice even surface. We were soon done with the school and even had mulch leftover to do the paths within the growing area of the garden. Our task complete it was time for tea, cake and pizza, and a look at some stills from the film and a guitar that doubled as a birds nest (photos of which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/MaryonParkFoodGrowingProject/photos)
