Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Last night's report courtesy of the lovely Marathon Marvel Katie Welford. I didn't take photos (again) so instead I have found images of key discussions we had. Big shout out to Beth and the two Rebecca's for nailing the vom inducing circuits and to Maya and Jackie for breaking PBs on their longest runs.
"Coach Rebecca stayed behind this week with a couple of volunteers to tend to the lovely Papa's Park, our new meeting spot. You might think this means they got off lightly, but that doesn't happen when Rebecca's around, so they did circuits until they felt funny.
The rest of us charged off to the Portico Gallery, which is quite far uphill. It was a bit of a shock to some newcomers but they did a sterling job and we all arrived, raring to go. We were met by the lovely John who offered us water (as always) or even wine if we fancied. Rumour had it there was even some mushroom tea on the go but we didn't get that option.
Some of us moved lots of market stalls upstairs, whilst the others tried to get some outdoor lights to work then did some really excellent weeding. There was a yoga class going on so we had to be quiet. And a cat. Apparently the cat likes yoga. According to John, her favourite position is the downward dog. He's asked her if it shouldn't be the downward cat, but she never replies...
With our work done and 30 minutes to get back down into Brixton, we sped off into the night. Some people accidentally went via Herne Hill. Others spoke of a terrapin on the lose at the Portico- 'don't tread on the terrapin' John had said in the dark. Noone took any photos. My shoelace came undone. We'd have probably been just as well to drink the tea..."
