Instead of the regular session in the Lido, this week four GoodGymers litter-picked the paths and grass areas around the creek beside the Lido.

Vicki, Rachel, Mel and I completed a full circuit of the creek, alongside the cycle mounds and the wake-boarding.

So many cigarette ends, so much litter blown into the shrubs, so many beer bottles and bottle tops.... and SO MUCH LITTER IN THE WATER! Aaaarrgh!!!

Mel and Rachel did a fantastic job, teetering on the banks, stretching as far as they dare, to pull litter from the creek. But we resolved to come back again with wellies, a net and maybe even harnesses and ropes!

Of course we found numerous odd socks, a cap and a little collection of treasure next to one of the benches. We also received lots of thank-yous for our efforts from walkers, runners and cyclists.

And it wouldn't be a trip to the Lido if it didn't finish with a drink and a snack from The Blue Lagoon!
