Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mike
Erika and I were up at the crack of dawn for this early morning mission for Mrs R. Well, 8am but I am often not up much before 9 even during the week so this shows my commitment to Goodgym! This was also Erika’s first mission for Goodgym so a big congrats to Erika and may the good deeds continue!
The mission for today, jet washing flagstones at the front of the property and weeding in the back garden. We both arrived before the scheduled time, such was our eagerness to get started and we were welcomed in by Mrs R who kindly offered us a tea or coffee before getting down to business.
Mrs R explained to us that she wasn’t able to get the jet washer out for the flagstones, much to my disappointment as I was super keen to do that task however there was plenty of weeding to do out back which we duly got stuck in. Mrs R provided us with a spade, trowel and a little mini trowel. I somehow managed to commandeer the spade and the trowel leaving Erika with the baby trowel, whoops but she enjoyed using it (I think) 😄
During our weeding Erika found a spoon which Mrs R hoped was made of silver, and I found a rock with adorned with a picture of a person that Mrs R informed us was the craftwork of one of her grandchildren. A fine piece of art indeed!
An hour passed and the majority of the weeds were successfully tackled. Hopefully they won’t be making a reappearance anytime soon! Mrs R was very pleased with the progress that was made and thanked us for our work. It also seemed as though we didn’t pull out anything we shouldn’t have, phew!
So we bid farewell to Mrs R, very hospitable and friendly and it would be a pleasure for both of us to pay another visit should the need arise.

Well done both - working hard even in the face of jet washer disappointment!
