Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Aimee Giles
*Three Good Gym runners (Emma, Ben, and Aimee) ran from their homes to the Hub in Grangetown to help give their car park a little tidy up. *
Ben arrived first and, rather than waiting around for Emma and I, he ran a few extra laps around the block. He convinced me to join him for two laps until Emma arrived - Thanks Ben! We met the staff at the Grangetown Hub who showed us the car park and provided all the necessary tools to complete our mission. We set to work clearing the weeds and rubbish. To pass the time, we chatted about our common interest in Psychology (well this was mostly Ben and me, but Emma politely let us geek out). We also chatted about our favourite Good Gym tasks that we have completed to date and all of the exciting happenings at Good Gym Cardiff.
Where did the time go?
Before we knew it, 45 minutes had passed and we had cleared the car park, the pavement in front of the car park, and the lane behind! It was hard to tear ourselves away from the task to run home. As Ben said, it was “weed-rly satisfying!” We said our goodbyes to the lovely staff at the Hub and started our runs home.
This was my first Good Gym mission, but the lovely staff at the Grangetown Hub and the enthusiasm of fellow Good Gym runners Emma and Ben made it an awesome experience!
