We didn't have any first time runners tonight but we were delighted to welcome Goodgym founder Ivo Gormley who joined us for his first run with Goodgym in Ipswich.

Our destination was one of our regular locations at Castle Hill Community Centre to finish off painting a room we had started last week and make a start on another.

With Lesley and Nicola volunteering as backmarkers we made good progress on the 2.5 mile run across town regularly regrouping and arriving together.

The now familiar routine of grabbing paint brushes and rollers ensued- with not quite enough for everyone Steve and Darren took on the roles of cobweb clearers and spillage monitors. Robin and Ivo completed the small, high area in the first room, while everyone else stood, literally shoulder to shoulder as they painted the new room. Irene and Lesley took on the task of whitewashing a very strong purple wall, while Hayley, Tom, Paul and Kerry "rollered" other walls with Sue and Nicola being selected for the more intricate cutting in. Soon Robin and Ivo joined the main gang and the previously white walls were fast disappearing. The task would have been completed had we not run out of mangolia paint.

Thank you Steve whose slip of the tongue provided the inspiration this week's title pun!

We squeezed as much paint as possible from our rollers and brushes but sadly had to leave the room not quite entirely mangolised.

A steady 2.5 mile run with a few trains on the way back to the waterfront and our night was concluded with some stretches and a farewell to Ivo.

So our last Group Run in January with 13 runners means we exceeded the Ipswich target for the January Challenge of 80 Good Deeds and 1200km

Goodgym Ipswich have completed 84 Good Deeds and (to date) have run 2203 km in January - Terrific Work!

Next week will be a shorter run as we head to La Tour Cycle Cafe a popular community café which acts as a hub for vulnerable people in Ipswich. See more info HERE

Gutted I couldn't make it last night but a very poorly girlfriend was the priority. Hopefully I'll get an excuse to come along in 2018!
