Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Kash
Once upon a time in Shepherd's Bush, Ms A had to isolate herself. She was so close to the crowds of a busy high street yet so far that she could not go out and do her shopping. She called for help, and mighty GoodGym responded. The number of heroes available at the time was limited, so they sent a red shirt with unremarkable endurance and mild telephone phobia. That was me.
My mission started with - wait for it - with a phone call to note down the shopping list. Ms A was very grateful for the help. She has shown extreme patience in answering all my questions and had no special requirements whatsoever. The latter was a novelty in my grocery missions career.
I took with me my trusted shopping rucksack. It turned out that its sole purpose was to slow down my run - the groceries bag was light enough to carry it comfortably in one hand! That was also a novelty.
The 12 requested items ranged from eggs to biscuits of my choice. The difficulty of finding them was so low that I didn't have to visit any other spot than one Tesco store. Did I mention that was a novelty too?
When I arrived at the delivery point, I dropped the bag in front of the door and gave Ms A - wait for it - a phone call. I stepped back into the shadows of the street. First of all - because I should not make any contact with an isolated person, secondly - because on my way I realised I am wearing outwear covered in muddy paw prints. That wouldn't be the greatest promotion of GoodGym! I made sure Ms A picked her order and she made sure to wave and shout out thank you! The end.
