Operation Warm Welcome for Afghan Evacuees
3 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Kingston upon Thames.
- Sunday, 29th of August 2021
- Led by Kate Haworth
As the designated hospital to receive pregnant Afghan refugees, the West Middlesex Hospital sent out an appeal for donations for recently evacuated women and babies arriving at Heathrow. These women have arrived with very little and many have had to be admitted to the hospital. Responding to the call to gather donations, Rob and I went off to Primark with contributions from some friends and colleagues too. Equipped with the donations request list, we embarked on the mission to source some basic toiletries, leggings in a variety of sizes, oversized t-shirts/ night shirts, newborn baby grows, baby hats, newborn nappies and baby blankets. It was great to see all the other bags of donations lining the door step at the drop off point this afternoon when we arrived.

I got really confused about why I didn't see this in the calendar for this week - you're catching up! :)
Haha yes, I apologise - I may have slightly not logged any of my deeds for quite a while… ooops!
