Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Run report by Steph Akpinar (our new trainer in Bath)
Showing no fear to the miserable rain, a fabulous 15 turned out on Wednesday evening for Goodgym Westminster!!!!
A warm welcome was given to me Steph who will be starting up Goodgym Bath coming in October .Great to see some new faces tonight and a Big hello to you all.
After a welcome to all and intro from Ellie, I took the warm up in front of the BBC, then led the group ( lambs to the slaughter ) down to Regents Park for a spot of fitness and tree hugging , Ellie gave some elegant examples for this , Then the heavens opened to send a message to SHE from Bath to get the next train home ... Must have been all that tree love . the beautiful sunshine would soon turn into a power shower.
Well done David by the way - I love the pun !! ...
Running from Westminster University to Regents canal for a spot of litter picking and we took the scenic route ( thanks Olivia for being my sat nav ) As the unsuspecting Goodgym runners were unaware that Steph ( an alien in London ) would be leading them Out on the route tonight for the 5 mile run.
Not to be put off we fought Geese galore and made it to the canal for a mad dash of litter picking in 3 teams,
with one coming up trumps with the winning and heaviest -
No pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but a bag full of cans won them a prize.
We made our retreat to the start with a few minutes to spare , stretches and more photograps
Side note here on the way home Ellie dropped her phone and all photos have been lost :( luckily she put 1 up on instagram before the drop so we could salvage that one at least.
A big Well done to Sarah who did her first 5 mile run and a great start to her half marathon training , I can safely say she's on the right track.
Please don't forget to sign up to an elderly person to be your coach and feel proud of yourself and all you achieve . THANK YOU Westminster for making me feel so welcome and remember I WILL BE BACK .
