12 GoodGym legends ran 8km, and other distances, to Broomfield Hospital

After a couple of doc checks, (hopefully people we will see soon!) five of us welcomed Rosie to her first GoodGym. Seven of us set off, after Adam tried his best to make us need to speed up to the hospital. As we hit Broomfield Road, we saw the miscreants known as Rachel and Joel hop out of their car to join us. Slightly further along Emily and Fay ** of GoodGym Colchester fame raced out of the pub to meet us. Always nice to have some tourists. Shortly after we arrived at Broomfield **Vicky turned up and the full compliment of twelve were ready to DIG IN!

Richard and David greeted us as always and laid out where the plants needed to go just outside the Hospital's East entrance. We set to work digging, weeding and planting. After James and James almost upended the lighting we finished one flower bed. After then redoing it as we had misplaced a plant or two(!) and the others completing the other bed accurately we took some photos. With time to kill we were shown the superb Dementia gardens, they look amazing and are fantastic spaces for patients. Catherine led the run back a lovely route through some fields and away from the road, one we will do again, and said our Good(gym)byes to runners at various points of the route.

Making it back to base to do some stretches we reflected on a great task and excellent run. We started with two Doc checks, set off with seven runners, made it up to twelve and then back down to a different seven by the end!
