With everybody waiting patiently at our agreed time of 9am beside the Fairlop Waters Boat house, we were ready to go for a run. Sharon opted instead for a litterpick of the area came prepared with a grabber and bin bag (great stuff!)

The weather was menacing, but thankfully the rain held off for our large running loop. We followed Julia around some of the more scenic parts of Fairlop Waters away from the crowded paths. It was lovely to hear the birds chirping away from the chattering of people (except us of course!).

With time running short, we cut across the golf course beside the waters (where ironically the grass needed cutting) to return to base. We spotted a beautiful heron on the way before Linda and James had a sprint-off!

James had kindly brought some cupcakes in his rucksack (which miraculously remained intact despite the run) to celebrate his birthday with us. Goodness knows how much we've all missed having milestone celebrations. The cakes were gobbled up before we could even get any photos.

Happy birthday, James!

It was a pleasure to see you all face to face after our weeks of only virtually seeing each other on our Monday Funday sessions by Julia and our weekly Parkini challenges.

Following on from our run was another at Wanstead Park led by Peter.
