As usual it was a great session at Frenford Foodbank. Good Gymmers and non members as working together as one big convivial team. Ed, Linda and Peter were there early busily setting up, before getting stuck into packing. AJ did a great job packing and mentoring some young-uns. Vicky cycled in and, despite being flustered from getting a little lost on the way, threw herself straight in to packing. Sharon did a sterling job calling some of the users to find out what they needed.
We were all finished and tidied up by lunchtime, well done to all of us 🥳. Sorry not many photos. I really must start nominating a photographer when I set these things up 🤦♀️

Using one of Ed's legendary Marshalling phrases for the report title to celebrate his 200th parkrun volunteer session. 🥳
Originally reluctantly dragged to his first parkrun in July 2019 (by Linda in the hope he might take up running) Ed opted to volunteer and was immediately hooked. Soon his enthusiasm and witty encouraging phrases became legendary among not only the parkrun community but spread to other local running groups.
With Ed proudly taking up his usual post as car park marshal the rest of us were scattered around the course taking on a variety of jobs, marshaling, VI walker, timekeeping, token giver and bar-code scanning. The Run Director bigged up Eds achievement during the briefing instructing runners to cheer him back as he cheered them on the way round- which I am reliably informed they did.
We came together at the end, with some of us assisting with the close down before settling in a corner of the children's playground for a cup of something and a bite to eat. Sadly Colin couldn't make it this week but sent his stand in Wiggles instead 🐛

6 energetic Goodgymmers made their way to the Babybank via the usual multitude of methods.
However when we got there, our always charming host Adam was very apologetic in explaining there wasn't actually any task for us to do. Something had gone wrong in the communication somewhere at their end.
So instead of sorting through a few bags full of clothing, we had a lovely catch-up about all things Goodgym and a few bits more.
Louise, sorry you didn't get the full experience, hopefully another time!
P.S.... a mini litter pick on my way across the flats is the other pic

When he first joined goodgym our Dharmesh set himself the tough target of completing 100 tasks in 12 months and put his heart and soul into achieving that target.
Achieving the parkrun 100 took a little longer, partly because you can only do them once a week and partly because he has been busy getting married and becoming a Dad ❤️ It was definitely worth celebrating so a few of us joined with his lovely family last weekend at Valentines parkrun with a bonus cuppa in the cafe afterwards.
Well done Dharmesh, good to see despite sleepless nights you still manage sub 24mins 🥳🥳🥳

With the planned babybank task dropping out, a litterpick seemed the quick solution.
The post-task social remained, so where Elegia joined Peter & James (first time in charge!) at our 'home' of Wanstead House to go for a run & pick, the rest of the crew ( Linda, Sharon & Aj) met a bit later on at Wanstead Station to walk across to the restaurant in Leytonstone, picking litter on the way there.
For a change we popped down to Wanstead Park, now the light allows more free roaming around. Elegia mentioned how the park looked surprisingly clean!

A few people came online to do Goodgym Yoga.
Yoga talk Get rid of the Fuzz Dr Gil Hedley explains brilliantly in his online talk that in order for the body to be optimally healthy and feel physically good, it’s important to move at the beginning of the day. Overnight, our muscles rest and while they’re not moving, layers of connective tissue and bodily fluid – fondly known as ‘fuzz’ – builds up between them. That urge to stretch we get upon waking is essentially an act of releasing the fuzzy build up found between muscles. If we don’t move and stretch however, this layer continues to thicken and build up, causing stiffness, chronically ‘tight’ muscles and common aches and pains.
