Thanks to today's leader Juli for our title pun and to Sani for the rest of today's report:
A run gym in a good park!
A parkrun volunteer takeover is not exactly comparable to a business or military operation but after todays mission at Maidenhead parkrun I'm sure we can all agree that both organisations and the people that volunteer with them are amongst the most joyful, diligent, reliable and enthusiastic beings you can find.
Today we saw that a great parkrun event really only needs a tiny bit of commitment, a huge level of camaraderie and two handfuls of happy volunteers. Goodgymers took to parkrun like ducks to water, no part of the volunteer roster was left out and judging by the smiley faces, waves and lovely comments the participants all enjoyed having Goodgym volunteers around.
New tasks were tried and lots of great memories made and I'm sure we can all agree that we have shown the very best of Goodgym and parkrun today.
Both organisations are always keen to spread the joy and show new people how easy it is to volunteer, so don't be worried about joining either of them as you will surely be welcomed with a bright smile and open arms (Covid permitting) :)
