We returned to GG Barnet regular Dell Fields to continue work on the garden furniture, sanding and varnishing the final chairs.

As always, the team assembled at the Phoenix, or what felt like the hottest of all evenings. GG newbie Rupesh joined us for his very first run – Give him a cheer!

After a quick warm up, we were off on our 3km run to Dell Feilds, with Damian leading the pack and Hazel our trusty back-marker.

With the first set of traffic lights holding us up, Sarah, who was running a little late, was able to quickly catch up before we moved on!

We had a couple of pitstops on route for breathing and press-ups. The route was mostly green and wonderful but slap-bang in the middle was a run over and along the North Circular, which is never pleasant. Once we made it to the care home, we quickly collected our tools and set to work sanding the final garden chairs and coating in varnish.

As we approached the finish line, a few runners found themselves task-less.

Enter the Burpee Challenge:Damian, Graham and Shawn set to work on a 1-7 burpee pyramid. Shawn emerged victorious, winning himself a package of fruit pastels.

The group then came together on the grass for a quick circuit: press ups, burpees, crunches and tuck jumps, 5-1. Jack was first to finish, winning him the first Barnet Biscuit back at base.

We then tidied up, said our goodbyes and headed home. Damian lead a speedy group back to base, while I lead everyone else. 6km in the bag. BOOM.

This week's Barnet Biscuit: Ginger Hobnobs

I'm off to Spain on Monday, Damian will be covering next week. You'll be running to a brand new task, to help out at an allotment. Sign up here
