In Fair Heeley People's Park 4 Goodgymers Cycling Celine, Mover Max, Acceleration Ash and Kinetic Kat met Heeley People's Park Rob to support this new green event: Romeo and Juliet movie night in Heeley People's Park powered by the legwork of c.20 cycles and rotating cyclists. As back-up crew our legs were there to be used for when power levels dropped and audience cycling participants needed a break.
Evening highlights included: - Inspirational Heeley community short films -Leonardo DiCaprio - what a great actor -spoke lights on the people powered bikes -friendly bike steward volunteers, event organisers and caterers, offering us cycling helpers vegan flapjack and popcorn :)
O what a night!
Rob is hoping to arrange another film event in Heeley People's Park in the future :)
Heeley Development Trust (HDT) is a small, charitable development trust, founded by local volunteers, business people & residents in 1996. We have delivered youth, community, environmental and economic development projects in and around our neighbourhood for the last 20 years. We are working hard, developing a diverse range of income, social enterprises and assets, all with the aim of making Heeley a great place to live, with a real sense of place, pride and community. Our projects include; Heeley People's Park, Sum Studios (saving a Grade 2 listed Victorian School and redeveloping as managed work space – this is bringing jobs and investment into our community), The Heeley Voice - a local magazine and Recycle Bikes – a social enterprise supporting disengaged young people to gain training, confidence, work experience and jobs. If you are interested in any of our projects, would like to get involved or are willing to volunteer any of your time please do not hesitate to contact us or give us your feedback.

I agree James! Inever thought I'd be described as Cycling Celine! As you can see from the photo, I was gasping after 5 minutes!

Great report! I didn't realise it was in a tent; I did think it was a bit of a gamble with the weather in March. I very much enjoy your flattering photo, Celine
