A litt - er bit of loving
On a gorgeous clear still but cold evening 7 of us met up to do a lit -ter bit of good on Worthing seafront.
The group split into two groups with three of us running and the important foursome taking an extended walk to the task, carrying the equipment for us all.
Sarah,Craig and I headed for a run around the pier and then met up with Sue,Paul, Ricky and John on Windsor Lawns.
Tonights job was inspired by our very own Gillybean who suggested that we take a look at The Fishermans Garden on the main path into Worthing to carry out a litter pick to ensure this seafront open space is looking as smart as possible. Combined with this we decided to take a look at neighbouring Windsor Lawns too.
Lit terally a relay
To keep Sarah and Craig out of mischief I set them on a litter relay so that they did a shuttle run back and forth along the seafront between picking up litter. Both the litter and running looked fairly dubious at times with a bit of light hearted slacking going on so I sent them off on another run around the pier. As Sarah was wearing my Garmin there was definitely an upside for my step count for the day !
There was no such slacking with the rest of the team and after some reaching and crawling around we filled 2 large bags which included several odd bits of clothing. We walked to meet Craig and Sarah ( how could they have got lost running along the prom?!) before we stopped for the group photo and farewells !
Apologies for the rather dark photos. Lots of street lighting and head torches meant the night setting on my phone didn't kick in. Will endeavour to sort it next week !
Have a great week and hope to see lots of you next week.
