19 Camdenites ran between 5-6km, helped Alara Wholefoods and did our last time trial of the year!

Welcome along to Chris and Sam whose first time it was at GoodGym last night, thanks for coming on a rather cold night!

Steve Lee (aka Steve One) hit an amazing 100 Good Deeds last night and will get his wings! What a brilliant guy!

In other news this week:

  1. Our last run of the year is 13th December, we are even gonna have a Christmas Meal & Drinks!
  2. Of course it's the GG Members Xmas Party next Friday (8th December) - come along!
  3. We are doing Regents Park 10km on Sunday 10th December - gonna be fun!

This week we were off to a Camden favourite, Alara Wholefoods, a cereal company based in the heart of Kings Cross which look after communuity gardens and the Kings Orchard Project.

Steve ONE & Steve TWO

We decided as it was so bitterly cold we'd go the long way round via Royal College Street & Agar Grove. Upon our arrival we distributed tools, gloves and bin bags - splitting into the following teams:

  1. Rosie, Kat & Liz headed to the back gardens to move 10 rolls of metal fence from three piles to one. They then collected up leaves to put in one of the compost bins.
  2. John, Sam, Jac & Sophie collected up tons & tons of leaves and PILED them in the compost bin area out the front.
  3. Two Team's led by two Steve's spread across the orchards where they hoed and removed the weeds around the apple tree's.
  4. Kim, Alex & Etsuko spread around the front to collect up rubbish littered all over the plants, compost & yacon!

When people began finishing their jobs they helped collect up leaves for composting from their working area. In 30 minutes we made a huge impact! As a lovely reward Alara gave us a box of granola - yum! We headed to Granary Square via the canal running & shaking our boxes as we went, that must of sounded bit strange but we loved it!

Shake, shake, shake that Granola..

Joined by Chris & Jess post-mission, we ran a lap of the Square and then lined up for our last time trial of the year! Everyone did amazingly, all coming through the 850 metre course in quick times, despite the cold. Nice!

After the run we descended on the pub as normal BUT I was surprised with birthday cake and a very unique Camden Beauties Calendar - thanks you guys! Much appreciated :)

Next week we are putting up Christmas Decorations for St Pancras Community Association (SPCA) - sign up here - gonna be a good one!

PB out.
