Saturday 28th September

Four GoodGymers joined together this Saturday morning for a group run to help out Homerton Adventure Playground.
We did a quick warm up and then set off from outside Brunswick Bakehouse for a social 2k run to Homerton Adventure Playground.
Two tasks were set before us and we split up into two small teams to divide and conquer. Jack and Suze tackled a heavily weeded area along the edge of the playground (which was so overgrown it was covering some artwork).
Marek and myself got rid of weeds and turned over a vegetable patch, unearthing some potatoes along the way which we collected.
We all joined at the end to help clear some final weeds before our potato-holding group photo and run back to Hackney Downs.
Well done all! The Adventure Playground contact was impressed with what a difference we made, and we shall be back for future tasks.
"We are a free service that provides a safe play space for children and young people to visit after school and in the holidays, keeping children and young people in the local community off the street and engaged in a space where they are able to grow, play, learn and develop."
