Report written by Ross Dobson
We returned to Harbottle Park to continue our work in cutting back undergrowth and trimming tree branches to provide a view between the road and the park.
Andrew, Katy, Sam and I fought through bramble and undergrowth to trim it all back, whilst Tom set about litter picking the 10 year build up of rubbish. We loaded the foliage onto Mike's flatbed and took three trips away to get chipped on Monday. At this point, Mike and I took the chance to take away a fly-tipped wardrobe, chest of drawers and two beds.
Andrew, Katy, Sam and Tom carried on with the litter picking to clear the area.
Well done and thank you for everyone who came. We made a huge difference to the park and we can carry this on in a few weeks.
There’s a greener side to our city. A vibrant, more open side. It should be celebrated, Nurtured, Enjoyed by everyone. Our allotments and parks are the lungs of our city. We’re here to breathe new life into them. We are Urban Green Newcastle.
