It was all hands on deck at this month's CREOS community mission. Not only were we joined by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) but CREOS first timers Latoya, Amanda & Sian joined their fellow Good Gymmers.
With TCV providing additional shovels and wheel barrows, the Good Gymmers began to shift wood chipping out of the entryway. CREOS is used by many locals, often those with mobility issues, and the recent rain had caused the paths to become slippery and dangerous. Thankfully by spreading wood chipping the paths become safe to walk on again (and very comfortable).
Forming a procession of wheel barrows Team Good Gym moved the chipping down to the path by the Cricket field. As one of the main entrances it was well trod and in dire need of covering. Shoveling the wet wood chipping and carting it through CREOS was hard work but an excellent arm day for all.
After halting the wood chip pile, the lovely TCV called everyone over for a well timed tea and biscuit break. Feeling energised the Good Gymmers did one more burst of wheel barrowing, covering even more ground than before. As the saying goes many hands make light work and now CREOS can be enjoyed to its fullest once more.
(Of course a pit stop at CREOS' famous picnic was a must before everyone headed home).
