This weeks task was a challenge to get to as many parks as you could within an hours long run, walk or bike ride as a way to explore your local area and find parks that you might not have known existed. Most of us are familiar with Central Park and Admirals Park (especially as they are part of the Parkrun course) and Hylands Park but there are a lot of smaller parks dotted about in Chelmsford as well.

David, Laurie and Jenny attempted the challenge with runs on the Saturday, whilst Andy went for a bike ride on the Sunday.

To start us off Laurie and David managed to get to an impressive 13 local parks on a 15km run with some fantastic pictures and David pulling off poses that Adam would be proud of. The only problem being they completely lost track of time and went 28 minutes over the time limit. Still at least they had fun and David got some mileage in his legs for his London Marathon training. Jenny almost managed to equal their tally finding 12 parks on a much shorter 8km run and crucially, managed to keep within the one hour time limit!! Well done Jenny!!

Andy tried to visit every park in Chelmsford on his bike ride and managed to get to 25 of them!! He did push the boundaries of the definition of a park by including pictures of a ‘Car Park’ sign and the ‘Park and Ride’ sign, but still very impressive Andy. However like David and Laurie the bike ride also went over the time limit of an hour.

So this week’s well deserved winner was…… Jenny!! Congratulations Jenny!! And I hope you all had a bit of fun on your weekend activity!

This week’s challenge is an all in it together challenge which you can find out more about and sign up to here.
