Feeling inspired by Bethan's training session dedicated to "Random Acts of Kindness Day" (17/02/21) I braved a warm but wet afternoon walk to grab a round of coffees for the few of us in the lab this afternoon. For anyone eyeing up the cup, there is a new, artisan coffee shop in Headington called New Ground; would certainly recommend trying it. As their website quotes 'Expertly crafted coffee meets social responsibility' , and now, if ever is an opportune time to support local businesses (and if you're still not yet sold, they have an awesome shop - you'll have to visit to find out!)

Coffee's were enjoyed by all of us; While the caffeine boost powered some through an afternoon of heavy work, a few of us enjoyed together in our 'socially distanced designated lunch space' (at work), and we were able to catch up with one of our colleagues who is sadly leaving very soon as a result of COVID (thank you Bethan for inadvertently creating the time for us to enjoy this!)

After work I also popped to the supermarket and purchased some UHT milk for the local food bank, using our GoodGym insider knowledge for items that are often in high demand and running low. Although only a drop in the ocean of what's needed, something/anything makes a huge difference to those who receive it.

Sadly I did not take great pictures of my endeavors, and didn't even remember to Strava the walk (did it even happen, therefore!!); I blame the rain!

Thanks, Bethan for encouraging a level of wholesomeness this year is very much in need of!
