Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Wow we had 44 GoodGymers help Terrence Higgins Trust make up 2000 World AIDS Day kits and run 6.5km with some pyramid intervals included!
Well last night was a GG Camden PB for PB - an amazing 44 of you came to do good! Thank you!
Welcome to the newbies great to have you along Siobhan, Melinda, Lisa, Fiona and Megan.
In the news this week:
We talked about some amazing news (above), had an introduction from Fiona who works for Terrence Higgins Trust and then did an active warm up!
World Aids Day - 1st December!
We split into two groups and headed toward Grays Inn Road trying our best to go across those green lights! With our arrival we took an awesome group picture and then heard about the amazing work Terrence Higgins Trust do, including:
The task was not condom based, I'm sorry I was fooled too, but there was still good to be done. We were packing up fundraising thank you packs in preparation for World's Aids Day. After listening closely to the ribbon demonstration we got on with the task at hand splitting into eight people per table.
The idea was as follows:
Each table seemed to have their own systems but I have to say Sarah R and Shirin's table were the most efficient and tidy. It's not a competition but they won.....
2000 ribbons packed!
With 45 GoodGymers and 30 minutes of work we saved the THT team about 2 weeks of packing, which is amazing! They can now have more time to do the amazing work they do for all those affected by Aids.
We packed up, had a banana, said our goodbyes and then headed to Russell Square for our fitness session. It was an amazing site seeing a sea of red bounce through Camden at night - beautiful!
Pyramid!
It was GYM TIME and the session went something like this:
1 min speedy, 1 min recovery, 2 min speedy, 1 min recovery, 3 min speedy, 1 min recovery, 2 min speedy, 1 min recovery & 1 min speedy last leg!
Everyone did amazingly, pushing themselves and keeping a good constant pace! Doing intervals with other people is the best way - hope you are feeling it today - well done!
Jog, stretch & pub
We bounced home, stretched out those muscles and headed to the pub for a well deserved pint & some sweet potato fries.
Thanks for coming everyone, it was amazing!
Next week we are off to help Skip Garden with a skip funnily enough, sign up here. The condom packing task will hopefully be in two weeks time but keep an eye out.
Cheers PB
