Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicola Marshall
We were yet again blessed with a dry evening - thank heavens! You can't begin to imagine the difference a dry evening makes when you're out on a dark winter's night with a litter picker!
Small in numbers again this week (how rude of you to be sunning yourselves in Oz Karen & Nigel!! ;)). We are still struggling for tasks (hint hint to any local charities, churches, organisations or community groups out there that could use our help!), so tonight meant it was another litter pick (bless you for being so gracious about it Maurice!).
Anyway, what we lacked in number, we made up for in effort! Maurice & Nicola put their pickers to work and started making a difference to some of the streets, pavements and communal areas around the Wishing Well and Asda area. There certainly wasn't a shortage of litter for us to pick..... Lots of cans, cups and bottles galore stashed away in the bushes and undergrowth! The litter kept us both busy for a good hour and half. We filled 4 large bags, which is sad but great at the same time.... if you know what I mean.
The best thing about the evening was definitely the company..... Maurice is always a pleasure to spend time with, and tonight was no exception. We chatted all things parkrun (for a change, lol! ;)), traitors, darts, investments and all sorts of random other things...
Thanks for being a true community hero Maurice and for being great company as always. You're amazing :)
Have a great week.
Lots of love Nicola xxxx

We went through a phase when there were fewer tasks so some of our task force made direct contact with places that might need us and as a result we have made some good partnerships. People just didn’t know who we were or how we might help. Good luck in finding some more tasks. 😃

Thanks Gill, that's a great tip - and you're right - very often, it's just about raising awareness. I'm hoping that we can do a parkrun 'takeover' soon too to help with this! Thanks again xx
