We had a wheelie good Valentine's night with Recyke Y Bike!

It feels like a while since we last had a Monday task so it was good to kick the week off with a visit to our friends at Recyke Y Bike.

Despite pretty bad weather all day, it turned out to be a clear and crisp night and four of of us set off from The Cycle Hub to see what was in store. We discussed at length Andy Murray's tennis career and athletic prowess on the way- what happens at GoodGym stays at GoodGym.

Task Owner Sara met us ready and raring to go with a wheelie good task to get the week started. Recyke Y Bike get heaps of bikes and parts donated, and the main tyre shelf was over run with mixed up tyres in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. Our job was:

  • Move a stack of bikes from one side of the area to another (some had their handlebars on sideways which was too much for Tanya's Monday Brain)

  • Empty every tyre from the shelf

  • Sort the tyres into sizes

  • Move the stacks of tyres into the workshop

  • Sweep up afterwards

As with most GoodGym tasks, the time absolutely flew over and it was soon time to take the all-important group photo and play hoopla with some tyres and Tanya's head.

Our next community mission is THIS THURSDAY where we would love your help to do some leafleting in Benwell. Come along if you can.
