#GGSheff kicked off their January Challenge by once again taking to the streets of Sheffield to tackle some of the city center's worst litter affected areas.
With a chill in the air we jogged down from our usual meeting spot to St Mary's Gate and gathered behind the Theatre Deli, dividing up into 5 teams we left 2 teams plogging while the others headed off round the city centre "almost road crossing free" 1km loop, reassembling back where the ploggers had made it to and then swapping over making sure everyone had a chance to keep warm while we cleared the large area on South Lane.
Having started with a degree of organisation, we soon ended up winging it with groups running their laps and swapping over as needed to use all the tools available, but not having anyone standing idly by. The session allowed everyone to take part, whether they were sprinting their loops or walking, or anything in between and even allowed those carrying some injuries to take part and make an impact.
Kim added an option of some strength exercises while some of us ran our last loop and made sure we'd picked everyone up from their respective plogging spots and we disposed of the litter, shoes, sandbags etc before we headed back to the Showroom.
Lots more stuff happening in Sheffield and nearby during January, keeping checking on the website as more stuff gets added!
