Safe as Houses
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Friday, 22nd of January 2021
A sunny Friday lunchtime saw Leo and I meet up to help Mr B return from hospital. We were sorry to hear that he'd been in hospital for a while, but the plan was to make his house safer by clearing the walkways so that he can come home and be looked after there where I'm sure he'll be most comfortable. Perhaps fair to say that Mr B has accumulated a bit of stuff over the years - it would appear that he's enthusiastic about both art and technology. The art didn't pose much trouble being largely attached to his walls, but small bits of tech like headphones, a metal detector and some walkie talkies were typical of the items that found themselves being reorganised and out of his way. As most of the stuff was relocated in a spare room, we had the unusual situation of the after photo looking worse that the before photo... But we left his house with a clear route from his front door, up the stairs to his living room, bathroom and bedroom and hope he'll be able to be back in the near future.
Great to see you today Leo, catch you again soon!
