Gave Miss L a call and she told me what she wanted. List read back (somehow managed to get scallops instead of scones - good thing, or she might have got a shell shock when she got her shopping!) and then off to the shops to collect the goods.

I learnt today that there are a lot of different types of milk. The first challenge was finding the specific brand of Arla Lactose Free. I’m sure I spent a good seven minutes looking at every single label with no avail. Finally, located and four cartons in the basket. The second was the almond milk. The request was my almond milk (cheapest brand). There wasn’t any own brand, but then do I go for the Alpro? The Rude Health? The Mylk? And what about sweetened? Unsweetened? Roasted? Toasted? One of the many cartons went in the basket, and I went on the search for scones, butter and sugar. Obviously as I went to find the granulated white, I was met by yet more milk. Long life. Almond. Roasted almond. Sweetened almond. Absolutely nuts! After another few minutes contemplating, I stuck with my guns, and the Alpro in the basket. Washing liquid and sweet chilli crisps went in (the former straight forward, the latter more tricky - the request was for a bag of walkers, however they didn’t have a lone bag, it was either a bag of non-walkers or multiple bags of walkers). Life is full of hard choices.

Made it to the self-service, and paid up, before realising I’d left the scones in with my own shop at the bottom of the basket... At scone last (and three taps of Apple Pay later), the shopping was complete.

A slog of a cycle up the hill to Putney, and the shopping was delivered bio me, to Miss L.
