It really did feel like shopping in a ghost town this afternoon, fortunately this made navigating around Mr A's local Sainsburys a straightforward task and having expected the shelves to be short of some products, I was pleasantly surprised that everything he asked for could be found...even the four pears (which sounded too much like a cryptic crossword clue).

Upon dropping off the shopping, Mr A and I exchanged best wishes for the New Year, where we agreed that it could only be better, even if any improvements would only really come in small steps. And with that we agreed to meet again in 2021 and bade each other a cheery farewell - I couldn't have asked for a nicer beneficiary and mission to sign off 2020 with.
