Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a balmy Wednesday evening the GoodGym Camden Crew laced up their runners and hit the streets- running all the way to Waterlow Park in Highgate. The run was the longest we have covered, with a challenging uphill 5k route up to the park. But our fitness is rapidly improving and we all made it to the venue without a single enforced stop- (and a ‘long cut for Steve and Andrew).

When we arrived it was all worth it- it was a beautiful spot bathed in evening sunshine. We were helping in the Garden Kitchen whose raised beds are used by a number of food growing community groups. Catharine had spent the day collecting a huge pile of compost which resident GoodGym tough guys Steve, Alex, Andrew and Shaun made light work of- using a new tarpaulin lift technique. Suffice to say Catharine was very impressed...

We also trimmed the wild grass and hedgerows with Nuala and Rachel showing Edward Scissor Hand -esque dexterity with a pair of Shears. We didn’t want to leave but we had to- so we played Hares and Hounds on the return journey. The faster ‘Hounds’ gave the ‘Hares’ a headstart and tried to chase us all the way back to Somers Town. But the Hares used the downhill to their advantage and reached the centre just before the Hounds swallowed them up. All in all it was a great evening out in the sunshine!
