Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by anne malcolm
Mr A has a home full of much loved items in bags, boxes and piles around his room. To reduce the clutter, he had bought 6 shelving units and needed help putting them together. Helen and Anne were happy to lend a hand.
Instructions in one hand, essential rubber mallet in the other, the GoodGymers set to work, quickly discarding the 'instructions' and using instead common sense, experience and some helpful guidance from Mr A himself. The design and mechanics of assembly were simple enough, although as is usually the case, some components were able and determined to defy the laws of physics. This is where the rubber mallet came in particularly useful.
As the 3 chatted about the Queen (RIP), Charlie Drake nonsense songs, General Custer (made general by administrative error), the superiority of vinyl, and the remarkable price of Tracy Ulman's 'Move over Darling' CD on Ebay (£400), the units were assembled and put in place ready for use.
Mr A was very happy with the progress made, particularly the unit where shelves had been spaced specifically to suit his vinyl collection. He is now able to clear space ready for the assembly of the remaining shelving units. Watch this space for another task listing!

Nice one! I'm glad the elusive rubber mallet did turn up!
