Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Liam
It was quite a flock for the last farm visit of the year, including GoodGymers from Southwark (Ayub, Liam) Lambeth (Michael, Adam) Lewisham (Vic) and even Islington (Julianne). The last couple of winter tasks down the farm have involved forking warm piles of manure for bagging. This time it was even cleaner fun. Filling a skip with surplus wood that wouldn't burn (rotten) or shouldn't burn (painted). Smaller bits got a wheelbarrow ride and we carried the bigger panels. A decent upper body workout. Then, as is customary, we got a little face time with the animals. The playful piglets, far from sheepish sheep and the super sociable goats, who have been known to play fight for an audience. Oh, and frogs of all colours. If that sounds like your kind of afternoon, with a brisk walk or gentle run either side, add it to your healthy list of New Year's resolutions. Newbie Ayub was definitely sold. Merry Christmas to all GoodGymers, present and future. #hohoho #keepitgg 🙌🎄☃️
Surrey Docks Farm is run by a charity and provides education for school children, young people and adults with learning difficulties. Our work helps with essential maintenance and helps them keep the farm operating.
