Report written by Barnet runner
Last night eight excellent GoodGymmers gathered on a very cold evening to deliver flyers for Stephen's House and gardens.
Stephen's House are a lovely local charity that run a series of events for children and older people in the community, as well as maintaining their beautiful gardens for locals to enjoy. They are also the base for the GGB Christmas bash on the 13th 🎉
Regular members were dropping out through injury all day but nothing stopped this hardy group. We wrapped up warm and aimed to keep moving.
We had been left with what was, in my view, an optimistic number of flyers but we grabbed them all nonetheless and set off into the night. Task Force Fay has been left low with an eye injury but decided to wrap up and walk along with our group (give her a cheer!).
We used our well practiced relay system, but with Fay walking we adjusted it to run loops and back and forth between the roads where she was walking to keep an eye on each other.
Maybe it was the cold or there was something in the air but our group made a massive effort and posted every single flyer we had with us across East Finchley. So many flyers! Fingers crossed for some extra business for Stephen's House.
We then set off for a faster run back to base for high fives and stretches.
Thanks for coming guys, you were brilliant. Remember: GGB Christmas Party on Thursday the 13th and our final group run of the year is on the 19th!
