Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
In -1˚ temperatures, 21 brave runners gathered at the Arch Gallery ready to tackle one of the most dangerous GoodGym challenges yet... THE CONCRETE SLABS!
After a brisk run to the Cre8 Centre, Hackney Wick everyone enjoyed the opportunity to warm up inside whilst watching some break dancing. Although watching breakdancing was fun it wasn't a good enough deed so it was outside into the cold to get stuck in shifting the concrete slabs from one side of the garden space to the other as quickly as possible to ensure that we could get back on the run and indoors before the snow could get any worse. In record time the slabs were moved and with every runner having all ten fingers and toes intact it was time to tackle the run home.
A group of dedicated runners training hard for the East London Half decided to take the long route home led by Ivo at a jaw dropping 8 min/mile pace whilst the other group, thinking they had chosen the easier route, took the direct route home mixed up with some sprinting to ensure everyone was well and truly warm by the end of the evening.
This week's GoodGym ended with some stretches to ease our shoulders and backs accompanied by soothing piano playing by a fellow GoodGymer Barney - it seems our talents are endless!
