So-fa so good
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Sunday, 14th of February 2021
Our Sunday afternoon task was to move some furniture to help Ms S come home from hospital.
I met fellow Goodgymer Hilary and Ms S's very friendly neighbour outside her place and we soon got to work. The first task was to clear as much of the furniture and belongings from the bedroom as we could. We realised that we needed to remove the headboard from the bed and in a Goodgym first for me, I even had brought a screwdriver that would do the job (I've learnt from other Goodgymers on this one).
We then drew on such past experiences as playing Jenga and Tetris, to neatly fit as much as we could into the storage cupboard. Once that was done we had to remove an armchair from the flat. Ms S's neighbour was impressed as we made light work of that, with only a slight moment of panic when initially it wouldn't fit through the door. After moving the last few things, we posed for the obligatory sofa photos, said our goodbyes and headed home.
Let's hope this will help Ms S to come home soon.
