John wanted to run far - 16km from the river = to this sofa-shifting task at Falconwood, but ran out of time instead, got a train, then went two stops too far while engrossed in an article about cheating at marathons. Meanwhile, Claire was cheating a bit herself, getting a lift to the task, having warmed up for this sofa-shifting mission by shifting some other stuff earlier in the day. Katrin was first to arrive - for her first ever mission! Welcome along Katrin, no doubt it's the first of many.

As moving-sofa-missions go, it wasn't the hardest. There were no stairs involved, and Joan's daughter had already helpfully moved things out of the way into the summerhouse, though of course we would have been glad to help. There was an awkward door frame angle to negotiate, and after we'd tried one or two methods, and took the wheels off the sofa, it was Katrin who used her spacial awareness skills to devise a solution. With the sofa safely in the garden for the council to collect, there was now room inside for a special chair to be delivered, which would allow Joan to sit in comfort on her return from hospital.

Mission accomplished, the three GoodGymers had a chance to sit down and relax on the gardened sofa, before heading their separate ways.
