7 Goodgym runners braved the rain to deliver blackberries to the homeless shelter.

An evening of heavy rain greeted those hardy enough to attend our Goodgym session last night. Some were delayed by traffic issues so we were a little short of runners, and with a last minute cancellation of tasks we decided to deliver blackberries to the homeless shelter to try to brighten up their day.

We began with a flexibility for runners session and displayed a wide range of abilities as we moved through a short yoga session. We them moved on to testing some problem areas so that we knew which ones we needed to keep an eye on to help prevent injury, and finished on some simple strength exercises for glutes and abs. We also performed a balance test which proved how hard it is to stand on one leg with your eyes closed! (go on try it! I know you want too.)

Then it was time to brave the rain. It had been fluctuating between torrential and drizzle but it was still relatively warm so we set off to the wooden bridge by the records office most enthusiastically! There were loads of ripe blackberries and despite Kerri eating almost as many as we picked, we soon filled the 5 punnets we brought and set off to the homeless shelter. Safely delivered we headed back to base and off home to get dry!

Next week we should have an indoor task painting the kitchen for MENCAP, so I expect glorious sunshine! it is a really worthwhile cause so sign up now!
