Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
Today, after completing a ‘not parkrun’, myself and Mike got in some GoodGym action by helping at Ealing Foodbank. It’s all change there at the moment and today we were in their new client pick up location in the church. The most exiting part about that? As it’s a much bigger space, we now get to use trolleys as we pick all the food. It’s like I’d finally realised my lifelong dream of being on supermarket sweep!
It’s also a nicer experience for people collecting their food now too, they get to wait inside the church and it’s all socially distanced with a great waiting system in place to keep everyone safe.
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
