Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
So on this fine and chilly October evening, 8 wonderful GoodGymmers ran a total of 5km around Ealing raising awareness of GoodGym and World Mental Health Day!!
It all started at Bodyline Studio, there were 2 newbs this evening, Juliette and Tom. Big shout out and welcome to you both and Tom I regret challenging you to that race!!
We had one purpose for the evening, to run, get fit and raise awareness. We left, goodgym tshirts blazing, flyers in hand off into the streets of Ealing. This run was significant due to World Mental Health Day on the 10th October. We reflected on how many people are affected with mental ill health and how important community and exercise are to aid mental good health.
After a squat line up on the North Circular we made our way to Ealing Common for some intervals!! Because intervals can be so good to improve speed and general overall fitness! After a few laps lungs were blazing so it was time for...lunge challenge!! Ok not really lunge challenge, but a nice little group session on bodyweight exercises to strengthen leg muscles, focussing on the front and posterior chain...and some burpees thrown in for good measure hehehe.
So after all the sprinting and lunging it was time for a cool down jog back to Bodyline. Before we set off I was delighted to discover that Jan is actually a pun master!! If you need a pun with the word 'common' in it, she is your lady!
After a few delightful stretches it was time for our first ever GG Ealing Social in the North Star!! Next stop...trampoline party (thanks for the idea last week Alex)!!
It was such an amazing evening and so great to see all your lovely faces!! See you all soon wonderful people!
