Simon, Caroline and James logged in for a hastily arranged last minute Saturday Morning Coffee Time meeting (Boxing Day edition)- a social catch up after one of the strangest festive breaks in history! Trainer Simon was joining live from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, while Caroline and James were both staying in London over Christmas.

Caroline had just been for a run around the local area before joining us (with training underway for an exciting multi-day trail run on the South West Coast Path next year), and was quickly enjoying some breakfast bagels before heading out for abike ride around Stratford (before a possible storm sets in!). James was busy in the kitchen over Xmas, demonstrating his culinary skills by creating delicious mince pies and an incredible looking apple pie (Trainer Simon was tucking in to leftover veg stuffing sandwiches in comparison!). Caroline showed us a couple of ginger cakes baked yesterday, but asked for advice about stopping the cakes from going hard over time. Trainer Simon recommended putting them in the microwave for a short time, and James suggested adding some icing to them to keep them soft. It was a Goodgym Islington group effort!

Gernerally, our objectives for the upcoming week is a mix of exercise (some runs and cycles where possible), relaxing (Trainer Simon is dedicating time towards reading a new book- "Signs of Life" by Stephen Fabes), a little bit of work and generally preparing for 2021.

Remember to stay in contact during these times, folks, and we will see you in person very soon!
