News tonight ....

  • the doodle poll to decide our Xmas do date was deadlocked and so we decided to stick with the original date of Thursday 6th December, details of what we will actually be doing are still being decided, your input is welcome!

  • we are having an extra group run on Saturday morning to dig in soil improver at Sloane Court and start on the planting. If you are free to come along then sign up here. There is lots to do!

As we were going to be running up a big hill tonight we had a quick reminder about uphill running technique during the warm up. In a nutshell stand tall and use your arms so we did some drills for posture and backward arm drive.

Then up the hill we did head to meet Cllr David Gibson and community worker Amy who set us to work planting bulbs. We split into 2 groups with half heading up to May Road and the rest working along Pankhurst Road. We made short work of it and had a bit of time to kill waiting for the May Rd group to rejoin which we spent having a wall sit ‘sit off’ and then a Warrior 3 one leg squat proving that you don’t have to move around a lot to work on your fitness.

Once we were reunited we headed to the ever charming Tarner Park where we monkeyed around on the new climbing equipment before completing a tabata of gorilla burpees (love those!) and knee to elbow plank.

Next week we are back at the community kitchen when we’ll be having our social with soup and maybe even celebrating some new 10k PB’s. Best of luck to everyone running at the Brighton 10k on Sunday. If you’re not running then come on down and give us a cheer.

Cllr David Gibson is well on board with Goodgym and comes up with various tasks around the ward to keep us busy & useful.
