The (Food) Bank Job
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Thursday, 26th of March 2020
On a sunny Thursday morning I took a socially distanced run through Tooting Bec Common down to the Wandsworth food bank in Furzedown to pick up some items for Ms M.
When I arrived I was told by the volunteers I needed a voucher so I had to retrace my steps back to Ms M's house to collect it and then run back down to the food bank. Ms M has five children so needed quite a lot of food, toiletries and nappies. The food bank volunteers brought out 5 heavy bags which I was a bit daunted by considering I only have two hands! They asked a local volunteer to help me carry them back to Ms Ms house in Balham. She was very grateful and I was glad I could help them out at this challenging time.
