A fab four flew fleet-footedly to Forest Hill, covering 6km of running and watering a whole host of plants.

Thank you to Louise for this week's sporty pun!

Was there a men's World Cup football match on tonight? The streets were incredibly quiet! Hoorah! Our numbers were small (but perfectly formed), with a few of our regulars away on their travels and That Game possibly keeping any newcomers away. How lovely though, to run with Louise, Tim and Bradley this week!

Racing news

As you can see from the photos, Bradley was at the GoodGym Olympic Games at the weekend, representing GoodGym Bromley, taking part initially in the torch relay and then supporting his friends in an array of events, from the GoodGym relay to the egg and spoon race. It was a fantastic day of fun competition, camaraderie and socialising, all put together by Tom - give him a big cheer! July is a busy month for running, with the I Move London relay taking place - non-stop - until the end of the month. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, either running, or volunteering, have a look here and get involved. On Saturday, regular runner Ian will be completing his 100th parkrun, over at Norman Park. I'm sure he would love to see a few of us there to support him - he is pacing 28 minutes, so maybe have a go at keeping up!

Platform 1 for the GoodGym express!

Tonight's task took us up (up and away) to Forest Hill Station, where there were lots of thirsty plants wanting our attention. Along the way, we started counting any England flags we spotted and were surprised to only see 13 in total (we also hoped that this didn't turn out to be a bad omen for the national team), but everything was alright, because Bradley had the GoodGym Bromley flag with him, rounding the flag tally up to 14, phew! Also along the way, Tim suggested a slight detour, to check out a green space that might need our help sometime and, as we ran, a familiar and smiley face approached by bike - big hellos and a nice hug from Lucy, trainer for GoodGym Southwark! On arrival at the station, we were presented with a selection of watering cans, some of which were very on trend, in GoodGym red :) We each found a thirsty spot and drenched it until the plants could almost be heard to sigh. Tim and Louise popped over to the other platform (spotting two more England flags) to water the plants there and we all headed out to the front of the station to water, weed, tidy and litter-pick.

Our return leg saw Bradley carry the flag like a cape, trailing behind, supporting the real winners of the evening, our runner volunteers, who weren't swayed by a bit of 11-a-side action, great work everyone.

Next week sees a brand new task, as we head down to South Norwood Lake, to do some painting at the Waterside House, sign up and join us!
