Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
11 of us met tonight to litter pick at Montpelier Park to kick off the Ealing Half Marathon Queen on the Suburbs Challenge.
We started things off with a little jog around the park and woods before donning the litter pickers looking for any areas that needed attention.
The main part of the park was pretty tidy with just the odd bit of litter here and there but the woods is where things got spicy!
If you go down to the woods today...
We found a few tucked away areas being used for (potentially) anti social behaviour. I say potentially as the tiny plastic packets dotted around everywhere could have possibly been button packets and the canisters could have been for whipping cream. I quite like the image of people sowing and baking cakes in the woods more than the other options...
The before and after picture, as modeled by Jenni, speaks for itself and we managed to clear four huge bags of rubbish and recycling (all separated out to help save the world) from the woods and park.
