This sunny Saturday morning Ellen and Darren had a 'running' packed morning. They met 8 other Cardiff Goodgymers at the Blackweir Parkrun to complete the 5km course. They then went for a coffee and some brekky before running off to Mr J's in Grangetown.

Mr J was in good spirits and was overjoyed we had visited because the recent weather had been so wet! He wanted some help with his garden as he is recovering from a knee op. He provided tools and gloves and we got to work quickly on his front garden,

Ellen turned over the planting borders and Darren weeded the path. They then both worked their way round the garden clearing the weeds and dead grass. After a lovely hour chatting away in the sun the garden was looking neat and tidy. Mr J got us a brush so we could clear up - we filled his Green bin.

Mr J made us a coffee to say thank you and he was delighted with the work that had been done. We stayed and chatted for a while as Mr J told us stories of his time in the merchant navy and his experience of once hitch hiking across America! He also told us some history of the local area, his wife has lived there since the 1930's!

We finished our drinks and ran back along the river bank to complete a lovely morning of running and good deeding!
