Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michelle
Kash, Sevan, Jenni and Michelle met in Brentford to help Mr R and his family with some gardening. Three of us were a little slower arriving than planned, but we hadn’t left Jenni high and dry, and it was a good job as this was a gardening mission that required a multitude of GGers!
Mr R briefed Jenni on the task and tools available while his wife located the key to the shed and gave instructions on how we could access the back garden.
This was a task that required me to close my eyes and stand back a few times, as the 3 Ealing Musketeers navigated our way through a few tricky spots. As the family can’t manage to get into their garden, due to health challenges, Mr R’s workshop has started to give way, and there appeared to be evidence of a foxes layer.
Jenni dealt with the rubbish that had started to build up, and bravely removed the waste left behind by the not so Fantastic Mr or Mrs Fox. While Kash, Sevan and I got to work moving brambles and overgrown weeds and bushes that had seen better days.
After just over an hour of raking, digging and sawing the grass (yes you read that right) we’ got to the root of the problem and ousted some of the peskier brambles.
It was time to tackle the ground and try out the strimmer Mr R had been keen we make use of. Despite heroic best efforts by the wonder duo Kash and Sevan, the strimmer wasn’t up for it.
Sevan debriefed with Mr R and reaffirmed his local legend status, by ensuring safe passage past the remains of an unidentified animal, for the squeamish among us (me!). Jenni and Kash needed no such assistance, and left the garden unscathed and ready for their second missions of the day.

Nice write-up Michelle! Dream team 🤩 Sadly no power tools this time 🥲 but still a cool task and an impressive result.
