18 wonderful runners ran 3km to help out at More 2 Childcare!

The evening started with a light sprinkling of rain but thankfully it had dissipated before most people arrived! Phew.

We welcomed 1 new runner to the group last night, the lovely Becky - thanks for joining us, hope you had a good first GoodGym run!

An amazing bunch of runners

It really put it into perspective for me last night just how amazing GoodGym runners are, and I know I might be a bit biased but specifically GoodGym Greenwich! We have had some seriously spectacular achievements that have happened over the past few months including Alex and Steve's 3 marathons in a month, Amy's sub 3 hour marathon in London, Oliver's first half marathon, Claire's 5k Parkrun PB, JC and Jonny's first marathons... the list is literally endless and I couldn't be prouder!!! It doesn't get more inspirational than you guys!!! You are AMAZING!!!

Anyway... we started off with a little warm up throwback from a while ago featuring some burpees to seriously get the blood flowing. Then we headed off to More 2 where we split up into our groups in an attempt to be a bit more organised!!

We arrived and were greeted by the lovely Eve who showed us inside and explained a few tasks. The bulk of them were outside so we headed out to see what it was all about.

Lots of sweeping leaves, raking bark and weeding, standard GoodGym stuff. But also painting, or should I say re-painting, the wendy house from our previous visit.. turns out it was a little patchy as it was in the dark... woops! Time to redeem ourselves!

We also had a bench to paint, a bookshelf to clean and paint, the outdoor floor to be power washed and some rugs to be cleaned! Sadly the Vax machine (not fax machine) wasn't working so Natasha just gave it a good vacuum instead.

After about half an hour when it was pretty much time to go, we were presented with a new task of replacing the dishwasher door, which as it turns out didn't fit and the old one had to go back on... luckily for everyone this meant no hill repeats... we'll save those for next time :)

We headed back to the uni for some single leg balance exercises on the steps. This is a great one for ankle stability and strength and can be easily done at the end of your runs, just a few times up and down the steps will be really beneficial and takes hardly no time at all. So next time your run passes through the uni you know what to do!

One final mini sprint to the gate and we called it a night!!!!

Dulwich Parkrun - just a reminder that we are going to Parkrun on 18th May. Details can be found here. Come and join us if you want to try your chance at a fast 5k or if you just want a gentle jog around! There is also a few people going to Southwark Parkrun this Saturday too if anyone was interested :)

Social next week - I don't think we've had a social since our Christmas dinner so I do apologise!!! Nowhere is booked yet but any ideas just let me know. There might also be someone celebrating their 50th good deed!! You can sign up to the run here.

Great work last night everyone! You got SO much done and the place looked great when you were finished with it! Enjoy your bank holiday break and Star Wars box set and I shall see you next week!
