After my morning community mission and a chaii break, I walked 30 minutes from Greenford to neighbouring Perivale to visit Mrs R, who needed help with her garden.

"I love gardening, but I just pull two weeds - and that's it!" - Mrs R.

The older lady was finding it difficult to maintain her garden, so here I was to sort it out! Mrs R stated her priority to tackle: the patio in the front garden. We went through the flowerbeds around the paved area and identified what she considered a weed and what was supposed to remain. Apart from the weeds, a dead lavender bush had to be removed.

After being caught by a drizzle in Perivale Park, I was glad the sun came out. The unassuming front garden started bustling with life. Wildlife! I spotted three bumblebees hanging around bright, pink flowers. A robin visited the flower bed, flying very close to me to catch an unlucky insect.

90 minutes was just about enough time to weed all the beds. I ended up removing quite a few bulbs, as I understood Mrs R didn't want to keep the grassy plants growing out of them. I finished the session carrying a full green waste bag to the back garden, then set off for a 5km run to Northolt.
